Recycles was originally involved in the export of items such as bicycles, manual sewing machines, typewriters and other products that had come to the end of their usefulness in the United Kingdom, but which would considerably enrich the lives of people in Zimbabwe. 

With the collapse of the local currency it was decided to trade these items for locally produced art.

On each visits to our Artists in Zimbabwe, we make sure that we give back in kind, as well as bringing much-needed income.

We donate tools and pieces of equipment which are impossible to obtain in Zimbabwe, and which enable our Artists to work more safely and effectively.

A proportion of our gifts are designed simply to enrich the life of the communities in which our Artists live.
